Service Description
The Pacific of Costa Rica, where the rainforest meets the sea. But some people is not aware there are two contrasting worlds existing here. The dry forest in northwest and the rainforest in the south east... and there is one popular spot that has the best of these two worlds. The Central Pacific. This tour will take you to this wonderful ecosystem. You experience first hand the beauty of the early morning at the deck of a famous birding lodge overlooking the mangrove forest and the pacific ocean (yes, there are a few sigthings of Yellow-billed Cotinga from here). Despite the lack of feeders we will take advantage of the early morning to try to spot the outstanding beauty of the Scarlet Macaws, the magnificent colors of the Turquoise-browed Motmot, the noisy chorus of the Rufous-naped wrens and with some luck a fierce Ferruginous Pygmy-owl. All that on the hand of one of the top local bird guides of the area, Jeison. A life-long birder of the Central Pacific who lives just minutes from here and has guided birders for years not only in Central Pacific but in all Costa Rica. He will explain you clearly how to identify each species as well as how to find them by yourself. He will also explain you all about the ecology of the birds and wildlife of this fascinating location and how the teak wood has saved the Scarlet Macaw and how the Tarcoles River is responsible for one of the greatest birding locations of the entire country.
